On each booking screen: check the pickup time (tap Edit) — arrival ~10:45-11:00, departure 10:45. Tick "Add notes for the driver" and write "7 large suitcases" (arrival) / "6 large suitcases" (departure) so they send a big enough vehicle. On the arrival, also add train IC 501, arriving 10:15.
💡 Arrival, two good ways: ① the Booking.com minibus above (€92, 10:30) — one vehicle, genuinely rated for 10 suitcases, and free cancellation up to 24h (real, unlike Welcome Pickups' 20% fee). Or ② skip booking and use the taxi rank outside Ostiense (~€40-50, two cars, zero commitment, immune to any train delay). Dropped: the Welcome Pickups €77 — their 10-11am is sold out so it forced an 11:00 pickup, non-refundable, with a smaller boot. Note: no operator tracks trains here except Kiwitaxi (€206, too pricey). Cheaper alternatives exist for the departure (FL1 train ~€16 from Roma Nomentana, 600 m from the hotel) but with 6 bags + 2 kids on flight day, the van is the sane call.

💶 Real driven quotes (Welcome Pickups): departure hotel→FCO = €94 (Minivan, 4 pax); arrival Ostiense→hotel = €77.
⭐ Best call: book the arrival on Welcome Pickups (€77) — it's the clear win (fits all 7, locked, cheapest big-vehicle rate).
For THIS airport leg (4 people), €94 is the pricey option. Cheaper: metered taxi ≤€80 (one car if your bags fit a sedan), Rome4U car ~€70 (WhatsApp Sergio +39 349 639 7019, confirm bags fit), or the FL1/Leonardo train €16-28. If you'd rather lock it all in one place tonight, WP both = €171 with free cancel = the convenience premium.

Lounge
⭐ Plaza Premium Lounge — Terminal 3, Boarding Area E
On your Visa Airport Companion / DragonPass (TD Aeroplan VIP). Airside, after passport control, in the non-Schengen E pier — exactly where your Canada flight departs. Open ~05:00-22:30.
- Why it's the pick: biggest lounge in T3 (~300 seats), full buffet with made-to-order pasta, pizza, and gelato (kid gold), showers, baby-changing.
- Cost: 4 visits (each person counts, kids included — ages 6-8 aren't free). You have 12 across both cards; confirm the free balance.
- Access: register the card in the Visa Airport Companion app → show the QR + 4 boarding passes at the desk. Pre-booking optional but worth it in-app for peak July.
- Backup (same zone): Prima Vista "Portus," near gates E51-E61 — smaller, quieter. Walk to it if Plaza Premium is packed.
⏱️ Sequence: clear security + passport control FIRST, then settle in — no re-queuing. Gate watch: if your gate is E31-E44 (satellite), eat here and leave ~13:40 for the SkyBridge; there's no lounge or food out there.
After you land (Calgary)
